A- Application Requirements for the Thesis-Based Master's Program (Turkish Citizens)
a) Possession of a Bachelor's Degree (For Bachelor's and Master's degrees obtained abroad, a certificate of equivalence approved by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) is required.)
b) The equivalence of Bachelor's degrees obtained abroad (excluding foreign students) must be approved by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK),
c) Obtaining at least 55 standard points in the relevant score type of the Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES), [Instead of the ALES result, scores obtained from equivalent internationally recognized exams at the level of equivalent scores announced by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) may be accepted by the Institute's Board of Directors. Scores obtained from the Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES) within the last 5 years are valid.]
d) Possession of a foreign language certificate such as YDS, YÖKDİL, or equivalent, if any,
e) Meeting the graduation requirements specified in the conditions.
B- Application Requirements for the Thesis-Based Master's Program (Foreign Nationals)
a) Possession of a Bachelor's Degree. (For Bachelor's degrees obtained abroad, a recognition certificate approved by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) is required.)
b) The Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES) administered centrally by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) is not required.
c) The Turkish language requirement is not applicable to applications from foreign nationals. According to Article 8 of the Bartın University Postgraduate Education and Training Regulation, successful candidates with a Turkish language proficiency certificate will be registered; candidates without a Turkish language proficiency certificate will be given a maximum of two semesters of preparatory training. This period will not count towards the study period. Students who do not meet the language requirement at the end of this period will have their affiliation with the University terminated.
d) For foreign nationals applying to master's programs who can document that they completed their undergraduate studies at a university where instruction is in Turkish, the Turkish language requirement is not applicable.

C- Evaluation and Student Admission (Turkish Citizens and Foreign Nationals)
a) Success Score for Admission to Thesis-Based Master's Programs (For Turkish Citizens): The success score is calculated by taking 50% of the ALES standard score, 20% of the undergraduate GPA, 20% of the science exam score, and 10% of the YDS, YÖKDİL, or equivalent foreign language score (if applicable). If the science exam is in written and oral form, 15% of the written exam score and 5% of the oral exam score are taken into account in the evaluation. (For those without a foreign language score, 10% is considered zero (0)). In the evaluation, those who score at least 60 out of 100 points are ranked according to their success scores and admitted to thesis-based master's programs within the quota.
b) Success Score for Admission to Thesis-Based Master's and Doctoral Programs (For Foreign Nationals): The final score is calculated by taking 40% of the undergraduate or graduate GPA, 40% of the science exam score, and 20% of the foreign language proficiency score (YDS, YÖKDİL, or equivalent, if applicable). If the science exam consists of both written and oral parts, 30% of the written exam score and 10% of the oral exam score will be considered. Candidates who score at least 50 out of 100 will be ranked according to their scores and accepted into thesis-based master's or doctoral programs within the quota.
c) In case of equal scores in the ranking for admission to graduate programs, priority will be given to the candidate with the higher science exam score, followed by the higher foreign language exam score, and then the higher ALES score.
d) Participation in the science exam is mandatory for all departments and graduate programs.
D- Science Exam
Candidates are required to take the science exam. Science exams will be held on the dates, locations, and times specified below. Candidates must bring their exam admission document, which they will receive from the system after their online applications are approved by the Institute, as well as a valid identification document (National Identity Card, Driver's License, or Passport) to the exam.
