Bartın University is introduced to international students at “YÖK Virtual Fair”

Our university is being introduced to international students from 142 countries in the "Study in Turkey YÖK Virtual Fair 2020" event organized for the first time this year by the Higher Education Council (YÖK).

The "Study in Turkey YÖK Virtual Fair 2020", organized by YÖK to reduce the negative effects of student mobility restricted by the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) and to introduce Turkish universities abroad in digital environment, has started. 20-22 July 2020 date will continue between the first virtual exhibition, students are accessing via digital platforms to universities in Turkey.

In the fair, which has 1,100 students from 58 different countries and 4 thousand 743 applications from 76 different countries were made as a result of the first call for the 2020-2021 Academic Year, international students are given information about Bartın and Bartın University.

Students who reach Bartın University from the 126th booth are provided with competent academic human resources who can speak English, Arabic, French and Russian. Rector of our University stated that Turkish higher education institutions together with our university have become the attraction center of international students with the understanding of 'New YÖK'. Dr. Orhan Uzun said, “With the new YÖK approach, the number of international students, which was 48 thousand 5 years ago in our country, reached 180 thousand with a record increase. In this process, our university has succeeded in increasing both the country diversity and the number of students, and reached 1,100 students from 58 different countries. The first call we made for the 2020-2021 academic year was 4,743 applications from 76 different countries. Our second term applications are ongoing. At this point, it was very important to hold the first virtual fair on a global scale in order to protect our universities' international student potential during the global new type of coronavirus outbreak. Some facilities such as late registration until 15 December 2020, accelerated compensation training, starting the education in the spring term by freezing registration during the fall semester, giving the students who cannot come to the country due to the epidemic measures through distance learning through digital means in the fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. it is provided.
